It’s been said by many great minds, throughout the ages, that if you find work you really enjoy, you never have to work again. Well for some, that may be easier said then done. However, there are ways to go out finding that perfect dream job. Is there a job you have always dreamed about? In today’s current job and economic climate, a job with the same company for a lifetime, is almost a thing of the past. It’s quite acceptable for many in the work force, to pursue those proverbial dream jobs. Is there a skill or a hobby that you really enjoy? Some of these skills or hobbies, can be turned into a viable way to earn an living, and love what you do, at the same time. Perhaps, you have been told by some, your are really funny, you should go into show business. Many high profile comedians started their paths, with prodding from family and friends, others knew on their own, that was their calling. Animals lovers throughout the course of time, have been able to turn their love of animals into lucrative and enjoyable careers. The work in all fields, including veterinary clinics and hospitals. Some go into the breeding business. Others even go into animal research.

There are usually many different variations, of specific type of field. For instance some have aspirations of, a career as a professional athlete. Not everyone can make climb to the professional arena. However there are many levels of sports, one can undertake, and still be employed in the field of sports. For example coaches, trainers, and and analysis, for different venues Dream jobs, are not always as hard to attain as many think they would be. The main reason for this is because any title someone has on their mind, offers many variations. When a specific dream job, goal is firmly set, attainable goals is are in order. For instance if a job in the fashion industry was always on the horizon, there may be a solution to getting a foot in the door. An unpaid internship, may be the way to go. It puts you in front of the right people, that can be extremely important to your career aspirations going forward. Now that a specific plan is in place, to head shop nc may be in order.

Dancing is a reflection of life to many people. It comes in many forms and provides enjoyment and entertainment. In some ways it can also be a reflection of dreams and interpretations of certain things and aspects in life. You will find that in all dance pieces something in life inspired the work.

One of the most inspired, beautiful, and incredibly appreciated works in the dancing world would have to be The Nutcracker. Each year around the holidays, ballet companies and studios all over the world chose to put on a show for many, many people so that the public can also enjoy the beauty that is The Nutcracker.

Many families, like my own, actually have a tradition to go and see the performance every single year. This tradition is important to every member of our family, even those who do not dance themselves. No matter if you are a dancer, enjoy watching performances, or someone who loves the story of The Nutcracker, this is a show that you must not miss out on in your life.

Everyone should at least see one performance of The Nutcracker in their lifetime. If you don’t believe me, check out this video of Miyako Yoshida as Clara in The Nutcracker. It is so incredible.

Ballet shoes, also called ballet slippers by many dancers, are shoes designed solely for ballet dancing. Due to the motions of ballet dancers and the complicated steps and routines they must perform, the shoes must be extremely lightweight. Often they are made from soft leather and canvas, or even from satin. Their soles are very thin and flexible. These shoes are sometimes mistaken for the more advanced ballet shoes called pointes, or “toe shoes.”

Throughout the history of ballet, women dancers have traditionally worn pink shoes while men stuck with black or white. This has been true of most productions, until recent years. Since the 1950s, it has become more commonplace to find both male and female dancers donning a pale, tan colored slipper that resembles skin tone, rather than traditional contrasting colors. This helps them to blend in with the scenery more, rather like a well placed security system from adt.

Getting back to pointe shoes, these were developed in France to assist ballerinas in performing dance moves that require them to stand up high on the tips of their toes, either to pivot or turn. Those who wear pointe shoes do not wear them throughout the entire performance, but only during the parts where they are needed. This change takes place off stage, while the pointe dancer is not featured.

Here is an infographic you will find helpful for learning more about these special shoes.

Raised in Detroit, Michigan, Sonya Tayeh gives some credit to the culture of the city as being one of the foundations of her dance style. Her style of dance is short, aggressive, and full of life. Tayeh calls the unique flavor of her style “combat jazz.” The dancer and choreographer started dancing in college at Wayne State University, and in the year 2002 she graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts.

Today Tayeh is a dance instructors at dance studios in California. Her strong and stylized movements in her routines have made her focus in teaching contemporary funk and progressive contact. You might also recognize Tayeh from the hit television show “So You Think You Can Dance.” She is often on the show choreographing routines for the contestants.

Take a look at some of her amazing works of art.

This is a clip from season 5 of the show with Kayla and Kupona dancing to “Eyes of Fire.” Notice the quick movements and the aggression in the whole dance.

Here Chelsie and Gev perform to Otis Redding’s “These Arms of Mine.” Again you can see some of the typical movements from Tayeh that show in her routines.

This routine is contemporary dance at its best. Marko and Allison from season 8 perform the routine by Tayeh.

The other night I was going through some boxes of books and old things when I happened upon some Playbills and programs from my last trip to New York City. Because I love dancing, seeing shows on Broadway gives me a boost. It’s like a natural high that I can’t find any other way. On my last trip I saw two shows, but then I got to thinking back to all of the musicals and shows that I have seen and how they inspired me. Here are a few of the shows that I have seen, and a little bit about how much I absolutely loved them.

Mama Mia! I saw this musical in New York, though I would love to one day travel to London and see it there where the original production took place. The Winter Garden Theatre is one of my favorite venues in the city, so seeing the musical there was amazing. The dancing was mostly jazz with some lyrical, and all of the dancers were so incredible.

Mary Poppins. As a child I always remembered loving the Mary Poppins movie. It was fun, whimsical, and it gave me more reason to let my imagination run wild. The dance with the penguins in the movie was my favorite part. I would copy Dick Van Dyke and dance along the whole time. Seeing the musical brought the Banks family story more to life. I still vividly remember the colors and lights of the show.

42nd Street. It was after seeing this show that my love for tap grew…and grew and grew. I got to see it the year after its Broadway revival in 2002. The musical is based off of the musical film from Warner Brothers made in 1933. When Julian looks at Peggy and says, “You’re going out there a youngster, but you’ve got to come back a star,” I was sure that what directed at me. The revival one the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical and it was nominated for many other Tony Awards including Best Choreography.

As a dancer, I obviously have a desire to watch every single dance related movie that is advertised on television. Yes, that means I have watched Step Up 1, 2, and 3, and I have even watched all of the Bring It On movies. Despite that there are so many dance themed movies out there–and most don’t do it for me–I still want to watch all that I can. The next movie on my list is the new Footloose. Can I just say that I love, love, love the original movie so very much? Oh I do, so this one has some big shoes to fill. From what I can tell, the story line has been kept intact. The only thing that has changed is the style of dancing. I just hope they keep it more dance than dancing at the club, but I will have to watch to find out.

Let me know what you think about the new movie compared to the old one. The new trailer for the 2011 Footloose is below so you can see if you can decipher whether or not they will be doing it justice or not. Let’s hope that they stick to the story completed, and it should be a great movie.

When summer comes along, that typically means that dancers audition to perfect their art even more so at intense summer sessions in large cities. It is more than admirable that you did forego your sweet summer vacation in order to learn more and improve upon your talents, but for some, these training sessions may cause some worries. This holds especially true in the event that you have an injury, become tired physically, become overwhelmed, or even disappointed. When these challenges and worries come about, if you know how to properly handle them, you will still get the most out of your training. So learn how to deal with these things, and you will be good to go, for sure.

Take good care of yourself. When you are away from home and your system of support and things, then you may not recognize signs that you really need to be taking care of yourself. For instance, you might not get the sleep or food that you require, and this can certainly lead to exhaustion and injuries. You should definitely work with the program and training schedules to allow for a paced load of training and work so you do not miss out on getting plenty or rest and food. When you are spending so much time training, then you most especially need eight hours of good sleep. You also need to make sure that you are eating healthy food about every four hours. Also, be mindful of injuries, the training program will have medical help available, do not hesitate, if you have been hurting in the same place for a few days, ask for help.

Take some downtime. One thing that performers who are very invested in their craft forget about is taking time to themselves and balancing their work and their relaxation or fun time. This is essential for you to do, because no matter how hard you work, if you do not take time to get together with friends, do something new, or relax, you will not be able to grow and do better. There are many performers who have realized this, and you should too. There is no doubt that you will benefit from taking some time to yourself.

Adjust accordingly. The thing is, you go off to a summer training program and you might not any longer be the big shot that you are back in your small hometown. That’s okay, and you need to know that it is okay. Do not focus on what other people are doing and how they are performing, focus on yourself. And always keep in the back of your mind that this opportunity is a chance for you grow and it will not create or ruin a career.

Dance and/or movement therapy is becoming a treatment for many types of illnesses and emotional situations. The movement is used to encourage integration socially, cognitively, emotionally, and physically. The therapists will work with all types of individuals in varying demographics that suffer from any or even all of these problems. So, how do you go about becoming a dance therapist? Find out more below.Education and Experience

While you will also be able to have other hobbies such as playing a musical instrument, writing or playing on http://www.foxybingo.com/. For undergraduate education, if you are looking to become a dance therapist, you will need to prepare with much dance experience. You should also take on courses with background in the liberal arts along with psychology. Graduate programs will vary, so for a specific list of requirements, contact the university. When receiving your graduate, that is when the majority of the training will take place. The graduate studies must be approved programs to be eligible to become a dance therapist. To be approved, then the program must have met or exceeded the required standards of the AMDTA–the American Dance Therapy Association. After you have received the appropriate education you may be eligible to become a Board Certified Dance Therapist or a Registered Dance Therapist.

Career

After you become a dance therapist, finding a job is key. There are all sorts of environments that a dance therapist may be called to work in. Rehabilitation facilities for both physical and emotional rehabilitation will employ dance therapists. Many schools, wellness centers, and nursing homes also offer dance therapy. There are a number of places where a dance therapist can find work, especially treatment and counseling centers. As mentioned earlier, a dance therapist must be prepared to work with varying types of people. Ages, backgrounds, and lifestyles will vary person to person, and it is the therapist responsibility to assist in helping these clients or patients in improving their emotions, ideas, and views on their self, situations, or relationships. Therapists will also probably help in giving new ideas and outlets for coping with situations. If you are a dancer, then your talent and artistic expression will be used daily in your career as a dance therapist, and you will find that it allows for a healing and new way for clients to improve and grow. Dance therapy is growing, also, with the recent popularity of dance shows on satellite dish guide‘s tv channels.

If you are a dancer, then you know that you will always be a dancer. One cannot just quit dancing, as it is impossible. A great way to keep dancing for the rest of your life is to choose a job in the field of dancing. Luckily, there are many careers that you can pursue when it comes to dancing. Take a look and see if any of these career choices will be just what you’re looking to do with the rest of your life.

Professional Dancer – If dance is your true passion, then you may consider becoming a professional dancer. A career as a professional dancer is quite difficult, time consuming, and physically taxing on the body. Often, the pay is not as much as many would expect. This may not be a life long career choice, because like a professional athlete it takes a toll on your body. Many times, professional dancers will assume other jobs to help supplement their income. Things like teaching dance or other classes will help to keep the dancer paid.

Teacher – Dance teachers either work at a dance studio or own and operate a dance studio where dance is taught. Teaching dance is a great way to share your joy of dance with people in your community and area. Typically schools of dance are promoted through word of mouth and marketing strategies. Often dance studios will have recitals, and some even compete in competitions that feature dance styles like tap, jazz, hip-hop, and acrobatics.

Coach – Dance coaches are generally past or present dancers that are given recognition by an association that sponsors dance sport. This includes different types of ballroom dancing, as well as, Latin style dances that require intense training and technique.

Choreographer – Dance choreographers are the one’s who make up the dances. There is often a lot of traveling involved for choreographers as they are typically contracted to do work for a specific project. Sometimes choreographers can find work at a dance company and stay there for the remainder of their career. Choreographers also become dance teachers and studio owners also, but they will most likely have a degree from a university. Also, if you have been paying attention at all to the direct tv channel lineup, you’ve probably noticed the surge in dancing competition shows. Don’t over look auditioning to help choreograph these shows!

Therapist – A Dance therapist uses dance as a form of therapy. This is most likely the career that requires the most training and education of all careers. In most cases, a Master’s degree is necessary to pursue this career, and a dance therapist must become registered.

“There are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.” Vicki Baum

I am not sure that I have ever come across a truer statement. If you are in a mood that just seems to get you down, then dancing is easily your fix. When you dance, you do not have to feel like you are good at it, because everyone in their own way is a dancer. If you are moving, then you are dancing. For ten years I have worked with children who suffer from depression, and my fix to lift spirits has always been dancing. If it can work with children who have been through situations that have changed their emotional outlook on life, then it can surely work for you.

Dancing is a way to leave your thoughts and worries behind and get outside of your head. The mental benefits of taking just thirty minutes a day to dance will astound you. Think of it like an alarm for your home. You don’t always remember it’s there, but it benefits you anyway. I meet individually with some children two times a week for dancing, and I have a group of children that come to my studio three times a week. These children need an outlet to express themselves, and dance proves to be just what they need. A lot of the children have actually been able to stop taking harmful anti-depressants, and their doctors seem to think that their depression is lessening more and more. All of this from dance!

Each of the sessions after the initial one, are an hour long. The initial dance session allows for the child and I to get acquainted and comfortable. Once we have talked for a while, then I will turn on music and we will dance in a monkey see monkey do format. Whatever dance move I do, the child will also do. Some of the dance moves are just plain silly, but this gives him or her a chance to just have fun. I have found that children with depression can struggle with this, so dance allows them to open up.

The social interaction and the fun of dancing has made significant improvements in the lives of the children that I have worked with. The child I began working with ten years ago just graduated high school, and she has been off of medication for four years. She also began competing in dance three years ago with much success. I’m so thankful for dance and dance therapy.
